BUYThere are so many good causes to support but one has really caught the eye of Aspire. A group of community gardeners from Friends of South Park in Fulham has embarked on an awareness and fundraising campaign, with the sole focus of reviving South Park’s Heritage Market Garden. The ultimate aim is to have the plot restored, revived and producing fruit, vegetable, herbs and honey as soon as possible.
As lockdowns have proved, reconnecting with nature and being outside is good for mind, body and spirit, and the Heritage Market Garden also aims to address isolation and loneliness in an urban environment. The reinstatement of the garden will also provide educational opportunities for the wider community, increase biodiversity, help nature thrive and promote neighbourly links. It is hoped the produce harvested from the site will be distributed within the local community in a fitting circle of life.
